Ghana forward Abdul Majeed Waris has been sacked from Portuguese giants FC Porto after just six months at the club according to reports.

Majeed together with five other players have been axed from the FC Porto team by coach Sérgio Conceição ahead of the season as a result of non-performance.

The 26-year-old joined the Dragons on loan from FC Lorient during the January transfer window where he helped the side to win the Portuguese top flight after which the club made his stay permanent, though he struggled to churn out regular playing time.

However, reports from the club's pre-season base suggest that coach Sérgio Conceição has sent the Ghanaian forward alongside five other players packing after failing to convince him during their pre-season training games.

The rest of the players are Saidy Janko, Ewerton, Oleg Reabcuik, Paulinho and Nigerian youngster Mikel Agu.

Abdul Majeed Waris has been on a journey since enjoying a successful spell at BK Hacken where he scored 26 goals in 55 appearances from 2010-2012.
