FINAL WHISTLE DOMINATE WESTLAND

Final Whistle Sporting Club made easy pickings of Westland FC in the week 9 encounter in Zone 4 of the Greater-Accra Regional Division 2 league at the Adjiriganor School Par, East Legon on Wednesday to maintain their seven point lead on top of the league standings.

The men in red put in a dominant second half display to leave their hosts stunned. Midfielder, Clement Amanteak had a phenomenal man of the match performance which won him the fans of opposition spectators.
Final Whistle started brightly but was as is the case in recent matches, guilty of missing some clear cut chances. The lads looked like they would see through the game in first gear but despite that, were the better of the two sides in that half.

The second started with renewed vigor from the visitors however and began to put their hosts of the back peg. It didn’t take long for the break through. Clement went on a mazy run through the opposition box and whip a shot in which deflected off a Westland defender for the lone goal. Final Whistle continued to dominate the rest of the encounter but the Westland keeper was equal to the job putting in a 9 out of 10 performance to keep the scoreline respectable.

A late onslaught from the hosts amid a flurry of substitutions was not enough to earn them an equalizer as the lead leaders maintained their unbeaten start to the season.

FINAL WHISTLE ANNIHILATE LEGON FC

Final Whistle took absolute control of Zone 4 of the Greater-Accra Regional Division 2 league by thrashing 2nd placed Legon FC by 3 goals to nil at the Bright Future Park, Amasaman on Saturday.

First placed Final Whistle extended their lead at the top of the standings to 7 points after their breathe taking display against the side from Legon. A brace from forward Andrew Okyere after fellow striker, Richmond Adade had put the home team ahead was enough to see Final Whistle maintain their unbeaten start to the season.

The hosts took absolute control of the game from the first minute but were guilty of missing some clear cut chances. Clinical finishing from forwards Okyere and Adade both fed by midfielder Clement Amanteak meant the home side went into the break, 2 goals up

The second half started with Legon FC growing into the game but Okyere’s goal in the 50th minute, killed their drive and Final Whistle dominated once again. The away, side staring defeat in the face with 15 minutes to go, started resorting to kicks and unprovoked attacks. The game ended with the very jubilant home crowd enjoying what was a feast of football.

AFRIYIE ACQUAH MOVE TO BIRMINGHAM STALLS

Torino are stalling Afriyie Acquah’s transfer to Birmingham City and might not let the Ghana international leave at all.

A few days ago, it was reported the move was on the cards for €9m (£8.2m)and his participation in the 1-1 draw at Bologna on Sunday was meant to be a farewell.

However, according to Calcionews24, Toro are reconsidering the entire situation.

Mirko Valdifiori and Daniele Baselli are injured, Marco Benassi was sold to Fiorentina and there is a shortage of midfielders.

Acquah looks set to remain with the Granata at least for this weekend’s Serie A game with Sassuolo, then a decision will be made.

MILAN TO MAKE MOVE FOR SENEGALESE STAR

Milan are not giving up on Keita Balde Diao and offer Lazio €15m plus Gabriel Paletta and M’Baye Niang, claims Il Messaggero.

The striker’s current contract is due to expire at the end of the season and he is refusing to attend training during this dispute with the club.

Today Juventus director general Beppe Marotta confirmed “Keita is a closed topic” after Lazio turned down their most recent offer.

This puts Milan right back in the lead and Il Messaggero newspaper reports they have proposed €15m cash plus defender Paletta and striker Niang.

It all depends on how much Keita has his heart set on Juventus, as he could join them as a free agent next year, but that would mean being frozen out by Lazio for this season.

THIS IS BEST REAL MADRID SIDE - ILLARAMENDI

Real Sociedad midfielder Asier Illarramendi believes the current Real Madridside is the best in quite some time.

Although he joined Los Blancos in 2013 from La Real, the Spaniard failed to make the breakthrough at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu and left two years later.

However, he has watched on from afar at their progress in the time that he has departed and is very impressed with what he has witnessed.

"This squad can be the best Real Madrid side in many years, I think they are," he said. "They have a very strong and competitive team.

"They can change six or seven players in their starting XI for a game and it doesn't show, they aren't hindered at all.

"Real have 16 or 17 players who are all of the highest level."

MBAPPE CRITICIZED BY MONACO SUPPORTERS

A Monaco supporters group has criticised Kylian Mbappe as he continues to be linked with a move to Paris Saint-Germain.

PSG are in talks with the Ligue 1 champions over a season-long loan deal for the 18-year-old with an agreement to buy the striker next summer, according to Sky sources. He has also been linked with a host of other top European sides after scoring 24 goals last season.

The club have said they want Mbappe to sign a new deal, with talks having been held over fresh terms, but Ultras Monaco 1994 has issued a statement condemning his conduct, including his reported salary demands to sign a new contract.

He was also dropped for Friday's win over Metz following a training ground argument with team-mate Andrea Raggi, and the supporters have said they would not like to see Mbappe sold to a domestic rival, if he is to leave the club.

"In recent times we have witnessed with astonishment and indignation the figures quoted by the media about the transfer of Mbappe but also about the salary to renew his contract with our club," the statement read.

"We think that no player is worth so many millions of euros. We believe football is for everyone and values such as the love of the shirt and respect for the club where you began your career.

"We cannot accept that one of our players has acted in that way and demand such figures, without having disputed more than a few dozen matches at professional level.

"We would like to remind Kylian Mbappe and his clan that nothing and nobody is above the institution of AS Monaco FC. We therefore strongly hope our representatives will take the necessary decision to close this case if these requirements are confirmed while taking into consideration that it is essential not to strengthen the competition for the title.

"Since their arrival, they have shown us their ability and we fully believe in them to build a team capable of defending the title, with or without Mbappe."

MBAPPE TO PSG WILL RUIN LIGUE 1 - AULAS

Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas bemoaned Paris Saint-Germain's potential signing of Kylian Mbappe as a potential body blow to competition in Ligue 1.

French giants PSG are reportedly close to signing Monaco's teenage sensation Mbappe, having already smashed the transfer record to lure Neymar from Barcelona.

There is speculation that PSG forward Lucas Moura could move in the opposite direction.

Outspoken Lyon boss Aulas, who has already been critical of Neymar's €222million arrival, warned Mbappe's potential move to Paris would severely impact the competitiveness of Ligue 1.

"If you stack the best players in a team, you do not have any more competition," Aulas told RMC as he highlighted PSG's 6-2 rout of Toulouse, in which Neymar scored twice and set up two others.

"When we see the game on Sunday night, is it useful that Mbappe comes to the PSG?

"Is this useful for the competition and for the economic development of football?

"If you no longer have an equilibrium in terms of investors, eventually you risk not having this great football as seen with PSG.

"I'm afraid that we get into a bicep surge, which is not useful. Will it improve the performance of PSG as Mbappe comes? If you stack, with supernatural money, the best players in a team, you do not have any more competition.

Aulas also confirmed Lyon – who are unbeaten after three matches – are interested in signing PSG midfielder Grzegorz Krychowiak, who is surplus to requirements at Parc de Princes, having only joined from Sevilla last season.

BARCELONA SUES NEYMAR OVER PSG MOVE

Barcelona are suing former player Neymar for 8.5m euros (£7.8m) over his world record move to Paris St-Germain.

The Brazil international made the 222m euro (£200m) move to the French club in August after buying out his contract.

Barcelona now want him to return a renewal bonus he was paid when he signed a new five-year deal just nine months before forcing through the move.

"The club demands the player return the already paid sum as he has not completed his contract," it said.

As well as the 8.5m euro bonus, the club wants "an additional 10% because of delayed payment".

The statement continued: "The club also requests Paris St-Germain take on responsibility for the payment of these fees if the player cannot do so himself."

The lawsuit was submitted on 11 August to the Labour Tribunal in Barcelona.

Following the transfer, Barcelona announced the club was withholding a further 26m euro (£23m) loyalty bonus from the player.

Neymar criticised the directors of the club on Sunday after scoring twice on his home debut for PSG in a 6-2 win over Toulouse.

"I spent four beautiful years there and parted happy," said the 25-year-old. "But with [the board], no.

"For me, they are not the people who should be there, for the direction of Barca. Barca deserve much better."

Final Whistle Sporting Club travelled to the Okushiburi Park, to beat Akorley Super Heroes by 4 goals in the Greater Accra Regional Division 2 league oon Sunday.

Final Whistle who are top of the log in Zone 4, tore the hosts to pieces in what was a very one-sided affair. The scoreline as a matter of fact, flattered the hosts who were not even in the encounter from the blast of the whistle. The visitors dominated the encounter from start to finish and were infact guilty of flaundering many guilt egded chances.

Final Whistle took the lead though midfielder, Clement Amanteak in the 23rd minutes after the midfielder went on a mazy run in front of the box to slot past the hapless Akorley keeper. The first half ended 1-0 but it should have been a floodfest.

The second half started with a blast with forward Richmond Adade forcing the Akorley goalie who had been subbed on at half time. The rest of the match became a stroll from the visitors who created chance after chance despite playing in first gear. Andrew Okyere added a third in the 72nd minute with C;lemenat Amanteak getting his brace on the 80th minute to put the icing on the cake for the visitors.

Final Whistle will now face off against 2nd Placed Legon FC on saturday at the Bright Future Park, Amsaman, looking to extend their lead at the top of the standing.
