The winger took the pain to dedicate a personally signed jersey to the First Lady, with his name and number on written it.
In a video that has gone viral, Hazard specifically mentioned the First Lady’s name, saying: “Hi Mrs. Rebecca Akufo-Addo, this is for you, bye bye.”
Mrs. Akufo-Addo was obviously surprised by the gesture and took to social media to revel in the moment.
She described the Belgian as one of the best players in the world, whiles also thanking him for his kind gesture.
In an Instagram post, the First Lady wrote: “I believe one of the best surprises I have had so far this year, is receiving a personally signed replica jersey, by one of the world’s best players, Eden Hazard. A Chelsea football player, Belgian international and face of Nike Sports. Thank you so much, Eden.”
Mrs. Akufo-Addo is believed to be a strong Chelsea fan, whiles her husband, President Akufo-Addo is a fan of Chelsea’s London rivals Tottenham Hotspur.
