The English gaffer has landed the top job on a short-term deal with an option of renewal as Kickgh.com reported on Tuesday morning.
He has ended his role as the technical director of Berekum Chelsea with a game to end the second round of the Ghana Premier League.
"Kotoko is a big club and as a coach or a player you always wants to test yourself at the high level, I am ready for the test," Coach Pollack told Kumasi based Abusua FM
"I am happy for the new job and I will be in Kumasi this evening or tomorrow to start work and hope to turn things around," added the Englishman.
The 56-year-old has been signed as a replacement for Croatian trainer Zdravko Logarusic who was sacked last month.
Ex-Ghana U-17 Coach Frimpong Manso is currently serving as the club's interim manager.
Kotoko lies eight on the Ghana Premier League table with 20 points after match-day fourteen.
The Kumasi-based club will announce the capture of the Englishman as their new head coach in the coming hours, Kickgh.com understands.
